Maintaining a Strong and Consistent Brand Identity

Overview

Launched in 2010, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (“DCC’”) is an annual one-day event where participants have the ability to ride, walk, or run throughout various routes offered within the tri-county area. The DCC includes a 5k run/walk as well as various rides ranging from 13 miles to 99 miles. Every year, University of Miami faculty, departments, grateful patients, friends, students, alumni, corporate partners, and others showcase their support by creating their own team within the Team Hurricanes family at the DCC. As a way for the South Florida community to make a difference and help raise funds that go directly to fighting cancer, the DCC is dedicated to improving people’s lives through the financial support of innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Primary Logo

Sebastian the Ibis is synonymous with the University of Miami. A trademark of the University’s legacy, Sebastian symbolizes strength, resilience, and determination — all attributes that encompass the DCC and its participants.

Logo Variations

Do not alter the color scheme or transform or eliminate any element of the logo, including the typography or the order of the brand, in any way unless it falls under the category of the responsive logo.

Responsive Logo

There are times when the primary logo would not be visible on a photo or color. For these instances, there is a wordmark version of the logo that can be used. You can download the logo variations below.


Lock-Up

When full brand representation is needed, use the primary logo with DCC/Sylvester lock-up. The size and placement must be exactly as seen and cannot be changed.


Improper Logo Usage

DO NOT

  1. alter the marks in any way.
  2. use any part of the marks, as part of another word or logo.
  3. redesign, redraw, modify, distort, or alter the proportions of the marks.
  4. surround the marks with—or place in the foreground over—a pattern or design.
  5. add words, images, or any other new elements to the marks.
  6. replace the approved typeface with any other typeface.
  7. enclose the marks in a shape or combine it with other design elements or effects.
  8. modify the size or position relationship of any element within the marks.
  9. add additional copy to the marks.
